Experimental and Numerical Analysis of Steel Beams’ Efficiency with Different Shapes of Corrugated Webs under Free Vibrations

The use of corrugated webs in steel beams has become one the most practical ways to increase efficiency resisting loads, natural frequencies, and their resulting displacements. Such a practice benefit achieving same as with flat web greater thickness. Consequently, effect types on flexure mode shapes frequencies been investigated by analyzing 23 using finite element (FE) numerical analysis technique. Hence, two without stiffeners were experimentally tested compared FE modeling results. Moreover, three (trapezoidal, rectangular, triangular) studied addition other parameters such thickness, width, length, angle. investigation results show that is very highly accurate predicting shape changes webs. Accordingly, saving at least 33% thickness could be realized type. triangular more efficient 1st shape, while rectangular better for modes. effectiveness angle type was clearly noticed, decreases 0.60 0.78, respectively, recorded. It also perceived linear specified cases.
